This was the first woodwind quintet created. This piece has a dejected, moody, heavy-hearted, and frustrated feeling. It is a vague story of a boy who sees a girl he likes and decides to give her flowers only to see someone else getting to her before he does. This leaves the boy depressed and then angry as he was before and with a lost opportunity to change his life. The piece is meant to be a little melodramatic.
